MN historic laws freely available online

The Office of the Revisor of Statutes has added all the historic Minnesota session laws, from 1849 to 1993, to the Legislature's web site. The site still has the session laws from 1994-present available as well. They can all be searched by keyword.

Direct URL to the new access to old laws: https://www.revisor.leg.state.mn.us/laws/

The press release has an explanation of the session laws and examples of how these laws can be used in research: https://www.revisor.leg.state.mn.us/press.php

Find Historical Images!

There are two exciting developments in online historical images I'd like to share with you.
  1. The Library of Congress now has a Flickr site! They've started uploading some of their amazing historical photos. So far, they have two sets: The 1930s-40s in color and News in the 1910s. Don't forget you can also access other historical images and documents from the American Memory project which is also a part of the Library of Congress.

  2. Did you know Minnepolis had streetcars? Search "steetcar" in Minnesota Reflections. Here's what's new: the images in the Minnesota Reflections project now includes comment functionality. You can leave a comment about any of the images or documents you find. Minnesota Reflections contains about 20,000 images and documents from and about Minnesota. Topics include: animals, business & industry, health & medicine, communication, arts, labor, sports & recreation, social issues, and more!

These sites are fascinating to browse through. I think you'll enjoy them. Also, both of these sites are also available in the GU/MSB Library's Recommended Websites.

What do you think of these sites? Aren't they fun to look at?
