Web Searching: More than Google?

Is there more to web searching than Google? There sure is!

iLibrarian lists these 8 supurb alternative search engines to uncover the web. I'd like to add one more to this list:

• GU/MSB Library's Recommended Websites - search sites that have been specifically selected by our librarians for your courses and programs.

Try out these search engines:

1. Addict-o-matic - lays out results from many search engines on one screen (excellent metasearching!)
2. Redzee - displays results as mini screenshots - great for visual learners
3. Omgili - search for "what people are saying." This engine searches forums, discussion lists, answer boards, and more.
4. Dogpile - another metasearch engine. It searches 6 engines at once
5. Truveo - find videos
6. Blinkx - find videos with this engine too
7. QnA search - search questions and answers
8. ZabaSearch - search for people and personal information

Happy searching!
