Celebrate your freedom to read

This week is the 27th annual Banned Books Week. This week is a celebration of the freedom to read what we want!

Katie Couric's Notebook: Banned Books Week (NBC) 2007

"Each year efforts are made to pull "questionable" books from libraries' shelves. Katie Couric talks about "Banned Books Week" and its significance for libraries and literary freedom." (ALA.org)

The American Library Association also makes available a list of the most challenged "questionanable" books of 2007. Have you read any of these challenged books? Are you surprised by what's on this list? We'd love to hear from you.
